Job Summary
The primary objective of the Financial Specialist I – Tax Compliance & Accounting is to provide business process and financial reporting support for indirect operational tax activities, including Sales/Use, Property Tax, Unclaimed Property, Business License, Fleet Tax, and Mandatory Deposits.
This position is a finance and tax role with a strong focus on reporting and analysis of tax compliance. It involves working with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams, bottlers, and external partners, to support tax-related processes, address issues, and improve efficiency. This role also requires technical proficiency in financial tools, such as SAP, Blackline, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI, as well as strong problem-solving skills to drive improvements in tax and financial processes.
The role is responsible for tax-related financial reporting and analysis, ensuring that accurate data flows into compliance processes and decision-making. It also requires regular collaboration with internal teams, bottlers, and external partners to address tax-related inquiries, provide financial insights, and support business operations. Additionally, this role works closely with a BPO and other key partners to improve tax processes and reporting efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Leverage financial and operational expertise to analyze tax data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Partnering with Bottlers: Collaborate with bottlers to develop analytical reporting that supports operational decision-making.
- Innovation & Efficiency: Provide innovative ideas using technology to increase efficiency, drive customer value, or reduce tax liability.
- Research & Insights: Research tax statutes and transaction taxability, providing insights to bottlers and Finance leadership regarding tax issues and mitigation strategies.
- Tax Filings: Prepare, review, and supervise the preparation of multi-state operational tax filings.
- Accounting Support: Oversee and support accounting functions, including Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Month-End Close.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Assist with other projects as needed to support bottler strategies and decision-making.

Key Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of finance business processes and accounting policies/GAAP
- Proficiency in SAP, Blackline, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI

Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
Years of Experience
Minimum 3 years’ finance and/or accounting experience (knowledge of SAP would be preferred)
Required Travel
Travel is not expected in this job, however, employees may be asked to travel for meetings or training on occasion.

CCBSS operates a hybrid working environment. This is a teleworking role that requires working at a CCBSS office location on a regular basis (or a minimum number of days per month or week) at the manager’s discretion. The number of days required at a CCBSS office location is at the manager’s discretion and is subject to change depending on business needs.
